This plant has intense, almost glittery, brilliant pink baby leaves which look dazzling in a mixed leaf salad. We also pick them for edible posies with nasturtiums and borage. Chenopodium self-seeds prolifically so keep harvesting the plants before they flower, or whip them out to feed to hens or put on the compost before they run to seed. Sow individually in modules or small pots in April. Harden off and plant out at least 30cm apart. These seeds are easy to save as they breed true.
