An unusual red-brown variety of Carlin Pea from Hodmedods, donated by Heidi.  These peas are commonly called maple peas or pigeon peas. These fantastic peas can be eaten fresh but are also great for drying and using in the winter. They make an excellent substitute for chickpeas.
